Looks like Azure Stack HCI brings new troubles

Post by T-S »

Hi I'm trying to capture a VHDX image that contains Azure Stack HCI (it's just a GUIless flavour of server 2022 with added Azure integration and a different combination of features/roles available than server core)

That's what I get

Code: Select all

C:\XY>h:\wimlib-1.13.5-windows-x86_64-bin\wimlib-imagex.exe capture u:\ h:\hci.wim  --compress=lzx
Scanning "u:\"
15 MiB scanned (101 files, 27 directories)
Excluding "\\?\u:\$RECYCLE.BIN" from capture
20 MiB scanned (276 files, 108 directories)
Excluding "\\?\u:\pagefile.sys" from capture
[ERROR] Can't open "u:\ProgramData\Microsoft\AzureStack\HCI" to read security descriptor (status=c0000022): {Accesso negato}
Un processo ha richiesto di accedere ad un oggetto ma non ha ottenuto i diritti di accesso
ERROR: Exiting with error code 47:
       Failed to open a file.
I can't even delete that directory even as Trusted Installer.

Looks like a new security level just like what happened to metro/modern apps when they were released, and looks like wimlib is not aware of that.

Please @synchronicity Can you take a look to this?
