Well, that's disappointing. If Windows really can do that, then the --update-of option cannot be guaranteed to work on Windows.
Is there any possibility the system was uncleanly shut down? I could imagine that could, in some situations, cause data changes to be persisted before metadata changes.

Re: Huge slowdown when archive size increase
Any news about the results on Windows 7? Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of Windows Server 2003 available for testing, and in general it is difficult for me to invest time into testing with outdated operating systems. Also: wimlib almost always runs exactly the same code on all versions of Window...

Re: Error with Windows 10 Enterprise....
For future reference:
This bug has been fixed in the latest stable release of NTFS-3G, version 2016.2.22.
To solve the problem, upgrade to NTFS-3G version 2016.2.22. It is also necessary to rebuild wimlib afterwards, since libntfs-3g.so uses a new library version number.

Re: Huge slowdown when archive size increase
Is it possible the slowdown is specific to Windows Server 2003 as well?

Re: Huge slowdown when archive size increase
Well, I don't have the hardware to test 3 TB of data, but when I create an archive from a Windows 7 installation I get completely opposite results from you. wimlib created a WIM archive in just over 2 minutes whereas Windows Explorer took more than 10 minutes to copy all the files. And the resulting...

Re: Huge slowdown when archive size increase
Thanks for the information. It should be kept in mind that the read speed and write speed will not necessarily match. Since wimlib performs deduplication of file contents, write speed is expected to decrease over time as the probability that a given file's contents was already encountered increases....

Re: wimlib 1.9.1 released
Extracting files to an existing "\Program Files\WindowsApps" directory fails with an "Access denied" error when running wimlib on Windows 8.1 or later, as discussed in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=261

wimlib 1.9.1 released
wimlib version 1.9.1 has been released. There are a few (generally small) changes: Object IDs are now saved and restored on Windows and in NTFS-3G mode. Reduced memory usage when exporting large numbers of WIM images. Non UTF-8 locales are now detected correctly. Addressed compiler warnings and enab...

Re: wimlib building on Open Build Service (OBS)
Sounds interesting. However, currently I'd prefer not to get too involved with UNIX / Linux packaging. There are many different packaging methods and conventions, and other people will package the software if they are interested in it, anyway. For that matter, it appears that wimlib v1.9.0 was recen...

Re: dokany support?
I have no plans for this right now.
Of course, since wimlib is free software, anyone is free to write a proof of concept implementation, if they think it is possible.
