Re: Comparision of --compact compression formats

for 6 and 7 it's useless because all files will be already compressed with lzx? Will they stay compressed when changed? Does it work for newly created files?

Re: Comparision of --compact compression formats

Hi JFX, Nice to see you here. So to clarify the steps, after downloading the driver with your tool: 1) I add the wofadk driver to system32\drivers and add the .reg file. 2) I add the conf given above to \System32\WimBootCompress.ini. Is the .ini above in this thread the right one? 3) I make a captur...

Re: Comparision of --compact compression formats

In the doc, it says we must add the wofadk.sys driver. Where do I get this file and how can I install it on windows 7?

Re: on the fly hardlinking

Ok, I can understand. Your improvements to this tool are already awesome :) I'll try to get this part ported. Anyway, their are alternatives like link shell extension which can also do dedup on the fly.

If yes, I guess sl...

Re: capture wim compatible with windows7 setup.exe

Hi, It works to replace the install.wim on an installation media with the one from a --snapshot capture of a live system (without , sysprep, without booting another windows or linux) but it's not completely clean. For some reason, 2 folders ($Windows.~BT and LS) and one file WinPEpge.sys are left on...

Re: capture wim compatible with windows7 setup.exe

ok, good thank you for your solution :) I'll test without sysprep and from windows then and report if successful. Oh and default LZX compression works for an install.wim ?

Re: capture wim compatible with windows7 setup.exe

@k3dar7 so you make a snapshot with wimlib, and replace the original install.wim with the one from wimlib on the installation media ? Or is it more complicated ?
